I have a husky/lab mix and a one year old so you can imagine how messy my floors get. I have been through appox. 6 vacuums in the last 4 years. 2 years ago, my husband and I almost bought the Dyson DC07, but due to cost we decided to go with another brand vacuum that was about $150 less. We should have bought the Dyson then, because we went thru 2 since and basically threw money away on lesser quality vacuums. We should have invested in a good solid reliable vacuum and saved the money in the long run. The Dyson is WONDERFUL and worth every penny. It is so easy to use, and makes cleaning so simple. I can vacuum my entire flight of stairs with ease and the vacuum can stay at the bottom of the stairs, no lugging it up as you get higher on each step. The telescopic wand reaches all the way to the top step. The Dyson picks up everything, dog hair, crumbs, dirt, you name it, it will suck it up. The tools are very handy too. I use the hard floor attachment on my tile in my kitchen and my foyer and it picked up every dog hair on the first sweep. You can also just switch the setting to hard floor and keep vacuuming from carpet to hard floor. The bagless container is very easy to open, just pull the trigger and the bottom falls open and all the mess comes out. With other bagless vacuums I've had in the past I always had to reach in there with my hand and pull out the hair, which is quite disgusting. And the Dyson comes with a washable filter, so no need to buy those expensive replacements. It will make your carpets look brand new every time you vacuum, and it is amazing what it pulls up out of the carpeting. Best yet, it doesn't clog from dog hair. This vacuum is so powerful. The suction compares to that of a shop vac, but it's not noisy like most shop vacs are, very easy to maneuver too. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone, well worth the money.

I took the plunge and bought this based on the great reviews here about how well it does on pet hair. I have a Pomeranian. My old vacuum (1 1/2 year old Dirt Devil) did okay with getting up the hair, but it always left a lot behind. I could tell b/c I would "comb" my carpet after vacuuming and TONS of hair would still come up. Well, I got the Dyson, used it, and did the "comb test" afterwards. NO HAIR!!! It got ALL the hair up!!! Plus, it got out a lot of dust that my other vacuum seemed to leave behind. Someone mentioned earlier about how well it does on apartment carpet. Well, it's true. I live in an apartment, and my carpet looks sooo rejuvenated after using the Dyson. Plus, my apartment smells cleaner after vacuuming with the Dyson. I would like to use the Zorb powder stuff it came with, but I'm not sure how to use it.

I think the only I don't like about the Dyson is the fact that I have to totally unwind the cord before detaching the hose. But that really is no big deal. This is also the quietest vacuum I have ever used.

I never thought I could love a vacuum, but I do.I just purchased a Dyson Animal after years of frustration with vacuums.We have 3 dogs,2 cats and 2 kids!The dirt and pet hair is abundant in our home.Despite the fact that we vacuum daily,it just never seemed good enough.I brought the Dyson home, vacuumed and picked up a canister FULL of dirt!I was shocked,we just had the carpet cleaned 2 weeks ago.I totally recommend this vacuum to anyone who has pets, or just wants super suction to get the dirt and yuck out of their carpet!

My husband and I received the Dyson as a wedding present and we love it. As parents to three very hairy kitties, it was a welcome addition to our home for sure! I had vacuumed with our old vacuum on a rug prior to using the new Dyson and was shocked at how much hair and dirt still came up! Yuck! If you've got cats or dogs, this is the vacuum for you!

I was so hesitant to spend this much on a vacuum, but WOW! I had used my regular vacuum 2 days prior to buying this one. When I brought it home I figured I would try it out in one room. I didn't think I would get much since I had just cleaned a couple days before. Boy was I grossed out to see how much dirt and dust came out of my floor. As a mom of a toddler and another one on the way, it is awful to think that my kids were crawling around on such a dirty floor. I thought that I was keeping things clean, but this vacuum gets out more than you can imagine. It actually made my carpet look as fresh as if I had had it steam cleaned. Spend the extra money on this one....you won't be disappointed!

I have had this vacuum for over a year and love using it. We have two large dogs which shed a lot! This vacuum never fails to get all of the pet hair, dust, whatever. It is incredibly easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone.

After asking several people about their vacuums, only the people with Dysons were in love with their machines. So I caved and spent the small fortune. I'm sick of all the cat and dog hair. OH MY! I knew it would be good but I had no idea! It literally sucks the DIRT out of the carpet. There's not only fur in the cannister but DIRT too. I thought we had a pretty clean house until I saw all that dirt. I don't want to stop vacuuming. I didn't even realize until I was reading the owner's manual that it's beltless too. That was always my problem with other vacuums. My other cannister vac was much heavier. It's actually pretty quiet. It's very ergonomic. The handles are in all the right places and at the right angles. The bottom drops out of the cannister to dump the dirt. I love it and wish I had bought one years ago.

I got my Dyson today and have vacuumed all of the carpets and the hardwood. The dining room rug was absolutely disgusting and it gets vacuumed every two weeks (my cats haven't even been allowed on the rug for months!) I love how smooth it is on the hardwood! It did a great job picking up all the litter that gets spread around and the tumbleweeds of cat hair that like to collect in corners. It has wonderful suction. The cats (I have two) knocked over their litter box and there was a pile of litter on the floor, with the Dyson I was able to suck it up in no time flat. It is a little heavy but no different than any other vacuum and that is really only noticeable on the carpet. My only complaint was the emptying of the bin. I had to reach and pull out some hair that didn't want to come out and I can tell I am going to have to rinse out the clear bin about every other time to clear out the dust. But my house smells fresh and clean and I love it. My fiance has been saying no to spending that much on a vacuum for almost a year, but today he ate his words! He loves it and my carpets feel all soft again. The hose is a little awkward but I'm short and it was able to reach up and vacuum out the cat hair stuck in the vents in the ceiling. Go ahead and buy it, you won't be dissapointed! I don't have any area rugs so I can't give you any feedback on that.

My sister bought this Dyson about a year ago and has been telling me to borrow it every since. Both her and her husband can't say enough about it and I just thought "How can one vacuum be better then another?" They have a BIG dog and 3 long haired cats that shed like crazy. I finally broke down and borrowed it. It is the most amazing vacuum I have every used. After cutting my vacuum time in half, the house looking wonderful and smelling great too, I finally believed my sis. The only down side is the weight of the vacuum. I have arthritis and it was a bit hard to manuvuer after awhile but totally worth the pain. The mini turbine tool is amazing. Made cleaning my couches fun. After convincing my husband it was worth the high price tag, we will be buying this vacuum in the next month. I can't wait to use it all the time!
